1. Brown v. Board of Education, 347 U.S. 483 (1954) Argued: December 7- 11, 1952 Date Decided: May 17, 1954 Vote: 9-0. The unanimous decision stated that "separate educational facilities are inherently unequal." Facts of Case: Brown v. Board overturned another court decision in 1896 named Plessy v. Ferguson. The case sought to correct segregation within school systems where white students were separated from black students. The case was filed by thirteen parents who had a total of twenty children attending Topeka School District against the District's Board of Education. Oliver L.
